Yawata Story

YAWATA ELECTRODE (THAILAND) CO., LTD. (YAWATA) traces the origin of its name to the city of Yawata (八幡市), which is now part of Kitakyushu city in northern Kyushu, Japan. Yawata was famous for its ironworks and was the site of Yawata Steel Works (八幡製鐵所), an important steel mill which helped to transform Japan into an industrialized nation. Presently Yawata Steel Works is part of Nippon Steel Corporation (NSC), one of the largest steel producers in the world.

YAWATA's story began in 1973 when Lertvilai Panich (presently Lertvilai & Sons Co., Ltd.; http://www.lertvilai.com/), the leader in welding consumables and welding equipment in Thailand, joined force with Nippon Steel Welding Products and Engineering Co.,Ltd. (presently Nippon Steel Welding and Engineering Co., Ltd.; https://www.weld.nipponsteel.com/en/) to found the company. With the renowned Japanese technology and Thai craftsmanship, YAWATA set out to produce only the highest quality products for its customers.
